ARTICLE 282 FFSA
                       GENERAL PRESCRIPTIONS
ARTICLE 1. General

1.1 . All modification are  forbidden unless expressly authorized by the regulations spécific  to the group in which the car is entered , or  by the general  prescriptions below, or imposed by the chapter " Safety equipment ". The components of the car must keep their original function .
It is the duty of each competitor to satisfy the Scrutineers and Stewards that his vehicle is in compliance with the regulations in their entirety at any time during the compétition
Vehicles must comply with the national road regulations.

1.2 . APPLICATION Of THE GENERAL PRESCRIPTION
The general prescriptions must be observed in the event that the spécifications  of the cross country véhicles  ( groups T1 , T2, T2B T2B +) do not lay down a more strict prescription or different mandatory

1.3 . various modifications
The use of magnesium and titanium is prohibited except for the rims or if a component actually exists on the homologated car .
Titanium is permitted only for line quick release connectoirs (except on braking  circuit)

1.4 . Damaged threads can be repaired with a new screw thread (" helicoil " type) .

1.5 PIECE "FREE"
The term "free" means that the originals part as well as its function (s)s may be removed or replaced with a new part has no additional function relative  to the original part .

1.6 MATERIALS
The use of a material which has a specific yield modulus greater than 40 Gpa/g/cm3 is forbidden, with the exception of plugs, exhaust coatings, water pump turbo joints, brake
pads, brake calliper piston coatings, rolling elements of bearings (balls, needles, rollers), electronic components and sensors, parts weighing less than 20 g and all coatings with
a thickness less than or equal to 10 microns.
 
The use of a metallic material which has a specific yield modulus greater than 30 Gpa/g/cm3 or of which the maximum specific UTS is greater than 0.24 Mpa/kg/m3 for non-ferrous material and 0.30 Mpa/kg/m3 for ferrous materials (i.e. 80% iron) is forbidden for the making of all the parts that are free or homologated as an Option Variant.
 
1.7 WATER SPRAYING
Spraying water on the intercooler / heat exchanger is allowed, but the system used should ensure that car stopped, the water does not flow down.
Any system of water spray in the intake manifold is prohibited. However as regards cars groups T2 and T2B T2B + , if such a system is registered with the car or home mounted on it , it will be retained.
 
 
ARTICLE 2 . DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT

2.1 . GROUND CLEARANCE
No part of the car must touch the ground when all the tires on the same side are deflated .
This test will be performed on a flat surface under race conditions ( occupants on board) .

2.2 . LEST ( Banned in T2)
Removable ballast shall be secured and sealed by technical and may not exceed a maximum weight of 30 kg , divided into 3 units minimum positioned on the floor Commissioners.
Will be allowed to carry tools and spare parts, as provided by s. 283 .
 
ARTICLE 3 . ENGINE

3.1 . supercharged
In case of overeating, the nominal cylinder will be affected the following coefficient :
- 1.7 petrol engines fitted to the T1 cars, T2B T2B + T2
- 1.0 for diesel cars fitted T2, T2B engines, T2B + .
- 1.5 for diesel engines in cars T1
The car will be reclassified to the class corresponding to the notional volume resulting from this multiplication.
The car will be treated in all respects as if the engine displacement was increased and its real capacity .
This applies to its classification by displacement class , its interior dimensions , the minimum number of seats, the minimum weight, etc. .

3.2 . Any engine wherein fuel is injected and burned after an exhaust port is prohibited .

3.3 FORM OF EQUIVALENCE BETWEEN ENGINE AND RECIPROCATING PISTON ENGINE PISTON (S) ROTARY (S)
(of the type covered by patents NSU- Wankel )
The equivalent displacement is 1.5 times the volume determined by the difference between the maximum capacity and the minimum capacity of the working chamber
.
3.4 . EQUIVALENCE BETWEEN ALTERNATIVE PISTON ENGINE AND ENGINE TYPE NEW
FFSA reserves the right to make changes to the database engine comparisons between conventional and new type of engine by giving notice of one year starting from 1 January following the decision .

3.5. EXHAUST SYTEM AND SILENCER
Even when group specific requirements allow replacing the muffler original cars competing in a race on public roads must always include an exhaust complies with the regulations of police or countries covered during the test .
The maximum sound level of the exhaust is limited to 100 decibels .
The exhaust system shall not pass through the cockpit .
The ventilation exhaust pipes shall be located at a maximum height of 80 cm minimum and 10 cm from the ground in a side exit, or at a height that does not exceed by more than 300 mm the height of the box carrier .
The end portion of the exhaust will not be directed towards the ground and is located within the perimeter of the car , within 10cm of the perimeter , and a side outlet at the rear of the vertical plane passing through the middle of the wheel base.
In addition, adequate protection must be provided to the hot pipes from causing burns.
The exhaust system must not be of a temporary nature .
Exhaust gases can only exit at the end of the system . The parts of the frame should not be used for the evacuation of exhaust gases.

3.6 . STARTING ON BORD THE VEHICLE
Starter with electric or other source of energy on board operable by the driver when seated in the seat.

3.7 DRIVE- BY- WIRE
. Accelerator controls of the "drive-by-wire" type are forbidden  in Groups T2 and T4, unless they exist on the homologated
vehicles, and are authorised in Group T1.

3.8 SMOKE
The engine can produce smoke.

ARTICLE 4 . TRANSMISSION

All cars must have a gearbox with a mandatory reverse gear entirely mechanical ( control range T1A and T1B authorized only) in working condition when the car takes the start of an event , and can be hired by the driver at the wheel .
Transmissions chains are prohibited.
 
ARTICLE 5 . SUSPENSION

Suspension parts partially or entirely from composite materials are prohibited
 
 ARTICLE 6 . WHEELS AND TYRES

6.1 . Wheels partially or entirely from composite materials are prohibited.
With the exception of the liquids and gels puncture , or tubes, the use of any device for the tire to maintain performance with an internal pressure equal to or below atmospheric pressure is prohibited.
The inside of the tire or / room air must only be filled with air and the products listed above.
As of 01/01/06 , wheel hubs should include a centering wheel by a shoulder , according to the principle used on production cars for new cars .

6.2 . MEASURING WHEEL WIDTH
The wheel is mounted on the carriage and resting on the floor , the car is in Running state , the driver on board the width measurement wheel will be used in any point of the circumference of the tire , except for the area in contact with the ground
.
6.3 . Dual wheels are prohibited.
6.4 . The studded tires , studded or teats or equipped with chains are not allowed ,
Are not considered as studded tires or nipples, tires with the following characteristics : No interval between the two blocks measured perpendicular or parallel to the tread must not exceed 15 mm.
In case of wear or tear angles , the measurement will be made ??at the base of the pad. In the case of circular or oval pads, the measurement is taken to the tangent of the pavers. Tread depth shall not exceed 15 mm.
These measures do not apply to a width of 30 mm and along each side of the tread , but the blocks should not exceed the balance of the tire sidewalls .

6.5 . In all groups, the spare wheel is optional except Rally. However, if the car is equipped , the number will be limited to two.
Rally at any time of the test, the number of spare wheels the car is set to 1 or 2, this for all groups.
Or the spare wheels should or must be identical to those fitted to the car.

Exception: For cars T1A and T1B group , the outer diameter of the wheel full backup ( flange , rim + tire) must be identical to the wheels on the car. (Tolerance : + / - 1 '') . The width of the tire assembly / rim is free , the tire should be used with crampons and use of motor racing.
6.6 . Tires equipped with puncture-resistant systems (ATS or other ) is prohibited.
6.7 . Maximum diameter wheels for cars T1A and T1B Group : 16 inches


ARTICLE 7 . BODY / CHASSIS / BODYSHELL

7.1 . INTERNAL DIMENSIONS MINIMUM
If permitted by Schedule J amendment affects a dimension brought to the approval form , this dimension can not be accepted as an eligibility criterion for this car .

7.2 . COCKPIT
It will not be allowed to install anything in the cockpit, with the exception of : wheel (s ) (only in cars group T2, T2B T2B + and banned in cars T1A and T1B group ) tools , spare parts , safety equipment (1 yellow vest and triangle
mandatory ) electronic equipment, materials and controls necessary to conduct fluid reservoir washer ( it should be located in a sealed box to liquids and flames) .
Containers for helmets and tools located in the passenger compartment must be made of non-flammable materials and they should not , in case of fire , release toxic fumes .

7.3 All body panels and body / chassis of the vehicle shall at all times be of the same material as the original homologated vehicle, and must be of the same thickness as the original homologated vehicle.
Any chemical treatment is prohibited.

7.4 . ATTACHMENTS AND PROTECTION OF LIGHTS
It is allowed to drill holes in the bodywork and chassis / front cover for headlight mountings , limiting fixations .
Anti- reflection protections flexible can be mounted on the headlights.

7.5 . Any object that is dangerous ( flammable, etc ... ) must be transported outside the cockpit.

7.6 . Flexible protection can protect commands or external fasteners mandatory safety equipment.

7.7 . Mounting bumper buffalo is prohibited.

ARTICLE 8 . ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

8.1 . The fixation of the alternator is free .

8.2 . Any electronic driving aids , and any electronic closed loop system are prohibited. (unless explicitly allowed)
Electronic closed-loop systems are only allowed for the engine control system , and systems automatic locking / unlocking differentials in Group T2 in accordance with Article 284-6.2 .

8.3 LIGHTING
An anti fog lamp can be changed to another , to the extent where the original is the same assembly .
Mounting a reversing light is allowed provided that it only works when the shifter is in the reverse position .
Beacons are prohibited .

8.4 TELEMETRY
The use of telemetry is forbidden ( data transmission between a moving car and anyone connected to the commitment of this car. )

8.5 The transmission between PC and drive shall be carried out only by cable.

ARTICLE 9 . FUEL COMBUSTION

9.1 . For gasoline engines, the fuel must be commercial petrol from a pump station, without adding other than a lubricant on current sale .
The fuel must meet the following specifications :
• 102.0 RON and 90.0 MON maximum , 95.0 RON and 85.0 MON minimum for unleaded fuel.
• 100.0 RON and 92.0 MON maximum , 97.0 RON and 86.0 MON minimum for leaded fuel .
Measurements will be made according to ASTM D 2699-86 and D 2700-86 standard .
• Density of 720 to 785 kg/m3 at 15 ° C ( measured according to ASTM D 4052 ) .
• 2.8 % oxygen ( or 3.7 % if the lead content is less than 0.013 g / l ) and 0.5 % nitrogen by weight maximum percentages as the rest of the fuel consisting exclusively of hydrocarbons and containing no additives that can increase power.
The measurement of the nitrogen will be used according to standard ASTM D 3228 and the oxygen elemental analysis with a tolerance of 0.2 % .
• Maximum amount of peroxides and nitro- oxide compounds : 100 ppm (ASTM D 3703 or in case of impossibility UOP 33-82 ) .

Density , kg/m3 : 860 max.
Cetane number (ASTM D 613 ): 55 max.
Cetane index : 55 max.

9.3 BIO- FUEL:
Bio- ethanol fuel
§ lead content : 5 mg / liter maximum (ASTM D 3237 )
§ aromatic content : 1% vol . Max (GC )

It is also recalled that the fuel called E 85 is in no way conform to this rule , as it is many other commercial fuels containing ethanol .

9.3 . As oxidant , only air can be mixed with the fuel .

9.4. SUPPLY
An official shall be present in the area of ??supplies.
Before refueling , it is necessary to establish a common ground to put the car and refueling device .
If the supply is effected by means of jerry cans, they must be spout.

9.5 . ANALYSIS OF RESERVOIR
The tank should be equipped with ventilation in accordance with Article 283- 14.2.sauf if the tank, the fuel supply and ventilation series circuit are retained.

ARTICLE 10 . BRAKES
