SPECIFIC REGULATIONS FOR SERIES CROSS COUNTRY CARS GROUP T2



ARTICLE 1 DEFINITION

ARTICLE 2 HOMLOGATION

These cars must have been produced at least 1000 identical units in 12

consecutive months and homologated by the FIA ??cars Offroad series and / or defined

in section 1. Cars allowed, paragraph 1.1. Group T2.

ARTICLE 3 NUMBER OF PLACES

These cars must have to accomodate at least two person

ARTICLES 4 AUTHORISED MODIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONS

 
4.1 Any modifications not expressly permitted is prohibited. The only work that can be

carried out on the car are those necessary for normal maintenance or replacement of

parts damaged through wear or accident. The limits of permissible modifications and fixtures

are specified below. Apart from these, any part worn through use or

accident can not be replaced by an original part identical to the damaged part.

4.2 The cars must be strictly seriesproduction model  and identifiable by the data specified by
the articles homologation.


ARTICLE 5 MINIMUM WEIGHT

In T2, the cars must have at least the weight featuring on the homolgation  on the form.

In T2F, cars must have at least the weight of the gray card.

The minimum weight is the weight of the car including safety equipment but

person or baggage, tools, jack, spare parts, material survival, navigation or

portable communications, food, etc. ... All liquid tanks (lubrication,

cooling, braking, heating where applicable) must be provided by the normal

manufacturer, with the exception of reservoirs washer or headlight cleaning system, system

brake cooling, fuel and water injection will be empty. Headlights

more which do not appear on the homologation form, must be removed before the

weighing.

ARTICLE 6 GENERAL
 

 
6.1 ENGINE

It is possible to replace or to double the control cable of the accelerator by another
or not from the manufacturer

The air filter, its housing and the tube between this housing and the atmosphère are free, but
 the housing must remain in its original location , the air must not be taken from the
cockpit, modifications must not affect the structure of the car, and the installation must be situated entirely in the engine compartment
It is possible to make an opening in the engine bonnet or in the front wings , with a maximum
 diameter of 10 cm, in order

to provide air for the engine, and to place a pipe, with a
maximum internal diameter of 10 cm, in this opening (see drawing 255-13)

6.1.1 Ignition:

The make and type of  plugs are free as  rew - limiters  and high tension cables

The electronics control unit and the ignition components in the electronic control are free neverless the system must be interchangeable with the original system ( is to say that the engine has to work when we replace the electronic control  by the electronic control of series)

Sensors and actuators on the input side must not be modified, nor their function.

No sensor may be added, evenfor the purpose of  data recording.

All data acquisition system is prohibited unless approved in the car is provided.

6.1.2 Cooling circuit

The radiator containing cooling liquid is free, as is the  type of thermostat which may

be removed. The location and the attachment points of the original series radiator must be

conserved.

It is possible to add an electric fan to provided it is of a piece mounted on a

any production car and it is on sale.
 
 
 
 
6.1.3 Feed:

the component sof the carburattor which control de quantity of petrol entering in the engine may be modified provided thet tey do not have any influence over the quantity of air addimted

6.1.4 Injection:

The original system must be maintained.

components of the injection system situated downstream of the air-flow measuring device, and which control de quantity of petrol entering the combustion chamber , may be modified , provided that they do have any influence over the quantity of air addimited .

The electronic control injection is free.

inputs to the electronics  control unit sensors actuators etcincluding their functions must remain as standart.

The outputs  from electronics  units control must retain their original functions in accordance with the homologation form.

The injectors may be modified or replaced in order to modify their flow rate , but whitout modifying their operating principale their mountings

The air filter, the housing and the tube between the housing and the atmosphere are free, but the housing must

remain in its original location, the air must not be taken   into the cockpit, modifications must not affect the structure of the car and the installation must be situated entirely in the engine compartment


6.1.5 Timing

Springs and play valve are free, but the camshafts (including the profile of the

cam) must remain as in the series
.

6.1.6 feed pump:

The number and operating principle of the feed pumps are free.

The matérials elastic mounting  engine  is free, but not the number
.

6.1.7 Exhaust:

It will be possible:

- Either to remove the inside of the original silencer,

- or  to modify the exhaust from the first silencer to the exit (drawing 254-3), the dimensions

maximum of the duct being those of the pipe  located upstream of the first silencer. The exit shoud be  situated either to the rear or to the side

  Should two inlets exist in the first silencer, the section of the modified duct must

be less than or equal to the total of the two sections of origin. These liberties must no  entail any bodywork

 
modifications and must respect the laws of the country in which the event is run with

regard to noise levels.

If a silencer is added, it must be of original type l and must contain the

noise absorbing material.

The exit should be either backwards or laterally, in accordance with Article 282-3.6.

Additional parts for the mounting of the exhaust are authorized.

6.1.8 Controller cruise:

This controller may be disconnected

6.1.9 soundproofing panels:

These panels may be removed.
 
  

6.1.10. Air Conditioning:

        It will be possible to remove the air conditioning system on a homologated car with air

        
conditioning.
 
 


6.2 TRANSMISSION

6.2.1 Clutch: the disk is free, including the weight, with the exception of  the number and

diameter.
 
 


6.3 SUSPENSION

6.3.1 Springs:

6.3.1.1. Coil Springs:

        The length is free, as is numberof coils, the wire diameter, the external diameter , type of spring ( progressive or not), the external diameter and the form of spring seats

       
. 6.3.1.2: Leaf springs,

         the  length,  width, thickness, and the vertical curvature are fre.
        The fitting of shackle protection pads is strongly recommanded.the number of leaves is free


6.3.1.3. Torsion bars:

         The diameter is free.

6.3.1.4. Shock absorbers:

         Free, provided that their type(telescopic, arm, etc)and their working principle (hydraulic, frictio,mixed etc) remain unchanged

          The gas shocks absorbers  are considered in relation to their principle of operation as

          
hydraulic dampers.

          
Verification of the principle of operation of dampers will be as follows:

          
Once the springs and / or torsion bars are removed, the car must sink down to the bump stops

          
limit in less than 5 minutes.

          
If in order to change the damping element ofa MacPherson suspension or asuspension

          
operating in an identical manner, it is necessary to replace the telescopic element, the

          
replacement parts must be mechanically equivalent to the original parts and have the same

         
mountings points.

          
The strengthening of the suspension and its anchor points is authorized by adding

          
material.

          
The suspension reinforcements must not be allowed to join two separate parts

          
them.

          
The shapes of the spring seats in Mac Pherson suspensions are free.

          
The number of shock absorbers is limited to 2 per wheel.

          
No matter other than exclusively for fastening a damper

          
additional may be added and / or removed from the suspension.

          
Where a car has only one wheel damper, the anchoring thereof is

          
free provided that no other element than for exclusively setting can

          
be added and / or removed from the suspension.

          
Reserves fluid dampers can be fitted in the wheel arches and the

          
chassis.

6.3.1.5. Straps:

        Suspension travel straps are allowed at the front and at the rear.

6.3.1.6. Rigid axle:

         If a rigid axle is used , the original parts can be strengthened insuch that the

         
original parts can always be recognized.

         
It is possible to change the material of the suspension wishbones to a car T2 for  steel,since the weight of the wishbones

         
is greater than the weight of the original wiwhbones, all other things being equal.
 

  

6.4 WHEELS AND TYRES

 
The wheels are free respecting of the homologated diameter and width,  which  considered  as maximum

  
in the latter case with a tolerance of + / - 1 inch.

They must be covered by the wings, and the maximum track indicated on the homolgation form

should be retained.

The tires are free within the limits of Article 282-6.4 and 6.6, provided that they can be mounted

on those wheels.

The spare wheel can be moved to the interior of the passenger compartment, provided to be firmly

fixed and not to be installed in the space reserved for the occupants.

Change bindings wheels bolts and nuts bolts fixings may be

subject to compliance with the number of attachment points and the diameter of the threaded parts as

figurative drawing 254-1.
 
 


6.5 BRAKING  SYSTEM

Brake linings are free, and their mountings (riveted, glued, etc ...), the

provided that the contact surface of the brakes is not increased. Protection plates

 
my be dismanteld or bent . In the case of vehicles equipped with servo assited brakes or an anti locking devicemay be disconnect

Brake lines may be changed for aviation type lines
.
 

6.6 BODYWORK

6.6.1 EXTERIOR

Hubcaps must be removed.

Can mount protects headlights with no other purpose than to cover the glass, and without influence

on the aerodynamics of the car.

The fitting of underbody protections is recommended but is authorised provided  that these really are

protections which respect the ground clearance, which are removable and wich are designed and speciffically in order to protect the following parts

engine, radiator, suspension, gearbox, tanks, transmission, exhaust.

The rear and side windows (behind the driver) will be non-transparent material (see

also section 283.11). This should not lead to changes in the shape of the bodywork.

Their attachment is free.

The front side windows may beings polycarbonate 5 mm minimum thickness or

with a transparent film

Mechanisms can be removed.

More panes of the same opening may be replaced by a single panel, and

for the windows of side doors.

The glass roof panel can be replaced by a metallic sheet with a minimum thickness of

1.5 mm, possibly with additional hardware.

We can provide a lock cap fuel tank.

If the original  spare wheel support  constitute  a hazard to the outside of the bodywork and that

this wheel is moved in the cockpit (see Article 6.4), it may be removed.

The assembly of mirrors is permitted, and the change of the wiper blades

ice front or rear.

Only electric winches mounted without changing the structure of the car other than

which allows the winch mounting bolts are permitted.

6.6.2 passenger space

Are authorized without limitation, all the accessories that are without any effect on the behavior

of the car, such as those concerning aesthetics or interior comfort (lighting, heating, etc ...)

the express condition that they do not affect, albeit secondary, the mechanical efficiency of

engine management, robustness, transmission, braking or handling.

6.6.2.1 It is permitted to remove the soundproofing panels of doors provided that their appearance does not change.
it is permissible to remove the door trim as well as their protection bars
installing a side slam side protection made of composite material.
mimum configuration of this panel must conform to drawing 255-14
 


? In case of side protection bars in the doors are not

removed, the door panels may be made of metal foil of a thickness

at least 0.5 mm, made of carbon fiber with a minimum thickness of 1 mm or another

solid and non-combustible material with a minimum thickness of 2 mm.

? Other soundproofing materials and trim:

 
It is permitted to remove the soundproofing materials and trim, except those

referred to in Article 6.6.2.1.
 


The rules above also apply to the trim situated beneath the glass

rear side of the car with two doors and four doors.

The minimum height of the side protection panel door must extend from the bottom of the

door to the maximum height of the crossbar of the door.

6.6.2.2. Floor:

         The mats are free and can be removed.
 


6.6.3 Commands

All orders must be those specified by the manufacturer, including their role, but

is allowed to develop to make them more usable and more accessible: for example,

adding an extension of the control of the parking brake, an additional flange on the

brake pedal, etc..

In particular, the following are permitted:

• measuring instruments, counters, etc.. Additional can be installed freely

provided that their assembly has no dangerous.

• The alarm can be changed. We can add to the disposal of the passenger or driver. The

multi-tone horns are prohibited.


• The mechanism lever handbrake can be adapted to obtain instant unlocking

("Fly-off handbrake").

• The rear seats can be removed. Optionally, a bulkhead separates the cabin

the engine compartment and / or the reservoir.

• It is possible to add additional compartments in the glove compartment and pockets

with additional doors.

• The steering wheel is free.

• It is possible to replace the electric windows in windows textbooks.
 


 6.6.4 Reinforcements

• Strengthening of the suspended part is allowed provided it is material espousing

the original form and in contact therewith.

• Bars Strut and anti-separation can be mounted at the front provided

they are removable and bolted to the attachment points of suspension in the shell or on

the supports of the suspension springs. It is also authorized to drill the upper bowl for

set these bars.

These bars may also be mounted at the rear on each side, two fixed points maximum.

The distance between these two points should be less than 10 cm. The distance between these points

and the attachment of the suspension is at most 10 cm.

6.6.5 When the spare wheel is placed in a home housing closed and when the wheel is

replaced by a wider wheel situated in this space (see Section 6.4), it is possible

to adapt the slot cover to the diameter of the new wheel (drawing 254-2).

6.7 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

• Battery: brand, capacity and battery cables are free, but the nominal tension  must be

retained.

Each battery must be securely fixed and covered to avoid any short circuit or leakage

liquid.

The number of batteries specified by the manufacturer must be maintained.

In the case where the battery is displaced from its original position, the attachment to the hull must

be made of a metal seat and two metal clamps with insulating coating secured to the

floor by bolts and nuts.

Attaching these clamps will use bolts of 10 mm minimum diameter, and under each

bolt, a counterplate below the body sheet metal of at least 3 mm thickness and

of at least 20 cm2.

The battery should be covered with a waterproof plastic box with its own setting.

Its location is free, but it will not be possible to place in the cockpit behind the

front seats.

In this case, the protection box must include an air intake with its exit outside

interior (see drawings 255-10 and 255-11).

In case the battery in the cockpit is a dry battery, it must be protected

electrically by a lid covering it completely.

• Generator: The generator replacement by a more powerful one.

A dynamo may not be replaced by a generator and vice versa.
 
 
 

. 6.8 FUEL

• If an FT3 tank is used, the fuel lines must be changed for

aviation type lines, the paths of these lines being free. In case of use of

tank series, change is optional.

It is permitted to replace the original tank only an FT3 and

accessories (in accordance with the various articles of the Regulation) supplying the original tank

via a connection on the filling tube of origin.

• In this case, setting the air tank will pass through the origin FT3, all

fuel lines should be kept home, new pipes and

accessories fitted to the FT3 will be in accordance with Articles 283-3.2. and

285.1.2.
 

6.9 jack

The jack is free and the jacking  points can be exchanged for others which have no other function
