ARTICLE 7 EXTINGUISHERS

All cars must be equipped with at least two fire extinguishers, ie either:

- 2 hand fire extinguishers of 2 kg each minimum, in accordance with Article 7.1.

- 1 hand  fire extinguisher 2 kg and a system installed in accordance with Article 7.2.

7.1. EXTINGUISHERS MANUALS

7.1.1. All cars must be equipped with at least one fire extinguisher 2 kg (2 extinguishers if not embedded system).


7.1.2. Extinguishing agents allowed
Authorized extinguishing agents: AFFF, FX G-TEC, Viro3, powder or any other approved agentby the FIA

7.1.3. Minimum amount of extinguishing agent
AFFF: 2.4 liters
Viro3: 2.0 kg
FX G-TEC: 2.0 kg
Zero 360 2.0 kg
Powder: 2.0 kg

7.1.4. All extinguishers must be pressurized according to the contents as follows:
AFFF: in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
FX G-TEC and Viro3:  according to manufacturer's instructions
Zero 360:  according to manufacturer's instructions

Powder:  8 bar minimum, 13.5 bar maximum.
Moreover, in the case of AFFF, the extinguishers must be equipped with a system for checking the pressure of the contents.

 
 


    7.1.5. The following information must be visible on each extinguisher:

capacity,

type of extinguishant,

weight or volume of the extinguishant,

date the extinguisher: up to two years after the date of filling or after the last check

  
7.1.6. all extinguisher must be adequately protected. Their mountings must be able to withstand a deceleration of 25 g.furthermore only the quick release metal fastenings and metal straps (2) will be accepted.

  7.1.7. Fire extinguishers must be easily accessible to the pilot and co-pilot.

  
7.2. SYSTEMS INSTALLED


These systems are highly recommended for cars T1A.

 
 
7.2.1. Each car must be equipped with a sprinkler system contained in the technical list n ° 16: "Extinguishing Systems homologated by the FIA."

Either in the technical list No. 52 (recommended) "extinguishing systems meet the standard FIA 8865-2015." The system must be used in accordance with manufacturer instructions and lists Techniques No. 16 and No. 52.

7.2.2. Each  extinguisher must be adequately protected and must be located in the cockpit. In any case, its mountings must be able to withstand a deceleration of 25 g.

All extinguishing system must withstand fire.

7.2.3. Driver seated normally with his seat belts fastened and the steering wheel in place, must be able to trigger all extinguishers manually.

In addition, an external trigger must be located near the switch circuit breaker, not combined with it.

It must be marked with the letter "E" in red inside a white circle with a red border, with a minimum diameter of 10 cm.

 
 

7.2.4. The system must operate in all positions.

  

7.2.5.  extinguishers nozzles must  be suitable for the extinguishant and be installed so as not to be directly pointed in the direction of the occupants' heads.
